Welcome

In honor of Black History Month, seven African-American artists presented Cultural Expressions 2014, an art show and experience. The second annual art show was held in February at Glynn Art on St. Simons Island, Georgia.
Each artist's work celebrated a personal style -- from paintings and mixed media works to sculpture. Yet they all shared a common theme – a reflection of pride in the many dimensions of their African-American cultural experiences.
The first Cultural Expressions art show was held in 2013 in Darien, Georgia, at Carly Hardy's Art Cottage. Darien artist Serena Hall, conceived of the exhibit idea and organized the first show.
For the 2014 show, Serena was joined by returning artist Michele Nicole Johnson of Sapelo Island, Ga., as well as Cultural Expressions newcomers, Rhonda Bristol of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Kenneth Carroll, Vivian Walker Mitchell, Tony Mungin-Shaw and Gene Threats, all of Brunswick, Georgia.
